At the resumed trial, Prosecution Counsel, Oluwaleke Atolagbe informed the court of an amended charge it served on the defendants in Court on Wednesday.
The court admitted the amended charge, after standing down the case for about fifty minutes, Dokpesi took fresh plea and pleaded not guilty to the seven count amended charge
The thirteenth prosecution witness, Ayobami Oluwarinu, a Lagos based private practitioner and architect gave account of the transaction Company Archisynthesis Limited and Good Country Investment Limited and Daar
Ayobami admitted over 65million was paid to Archisynthesis Limited account in installments for design and construction work for Daar studios in Abuja and completion of construction renovation work in Dokpesi residence in Agenebode Edo State built in 2011
During cross examination by defense Counsel Kanu Agabi, Ayobami who has been working for DAAR for years told the court that the fees were normal adding that DAAR is a well-known organization and he has never concerned himself with how they earn the money paid to him
Displeased with the prosecution laxity in handling the case, counsel for the defendants, Kanu Agabi expressed Dokpesi's anxiousness to defend and clear himself of the charges proffered against him by the federal government
Dokpesi and his company, DAAR Investment and Holding Company Limited are being tried by the federal government for allegedly receiving funds for PDP media campaign purposes from the account of the Office of the National Security
Dokpesi however insists that the transaction was legitimately carried out
The prosecution is expected to call three more witnesses
The trial Judge Justice John Tsoho adjourned to May 28, 2018
