KILLINGS IN ZAMFARA;SENATE SEEKS AIRFORCE INTERVENTION

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday called on the Nigerian Air Force to use air surveillance to identify armed bandits carrying out senseless killings in Zamfara State.

his followed a motion on the urgent need to look into repeated killings and destruction of property in that state.

There has been several motions on killings and destruction in Zamfara State for years, but all these have yielded little or no result.

The lawmakers drew the attention of the senate once again to the recent killings in the state.

They want the state government to take critical steps in addressing the issue as a matter of priority.

The Federal Government had last week deployed troops to the troubled area.
