SENATOR HELD HOSTAGE BY ANGRY MEMBERS OF HIS CONSTITUENCY

Senator Joshua Lidani who represents Gombe South in the Senate, was today held hostage by some angry members in his constituency Talasse town in Balanga local government of the state.

 

Senator Lidani was in his constituency to pay them a visit when some angry youths accosted him and attempted to whisk him away in their own vehicle. This is after they accused him of abandoning them since he went into the red chamber. The youths alleged that the senator since assuming office, refused to pick phone calls from any member of his constituency.

Senator Lidani was forced to take refuge in the residence of the traditional ruler of Talasse. 

Soldiers were called in when it appeared the police could not manage the irate youths. The soldiers were said to have fired gunshots after the youths challenged them.
