98 pupils and Staff of Our Lady of Fatima Nursery and Primary School on Monday had an accident at Mararaba Jamaa junction, of Jos South local government area, Plateau state, while on their way to school at Kuru Jenta of the local government area.

Two of the children lost their lives while those critically injured were receiving treatment at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital where the State Governor, Simon Lalong paid them a visit as he was touring facilities in the hospital.

The Proprietress of the School, Reverend Sister Florence Golam who was seen calming the frightened children said she has no details of the incident and the Headmaster who could say what transpired could not be reached at the time of this report.

Parents of the pupils were seen thronging the hospital's premises to ascertain the state of their children while staff were attending to the injured in the casualty.

The accident occurred in the early hours when the school bus failed break while conveying the children to school and a prompt rescue efforts by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps reduced gridlock in the area.
