Two suspects have been arrested for examination malpractices in the ongoing unified tertiary matriculation examination, UTME, at the Baptist academy computer based centre, karu in Abuja.
The arrest was made possible by a combined team of men of the Nigerian security and Civil Defence Corps and invigilators of the joint admissions and matriculation board, jamb.
Joy Akpabio is in her twenties. It is the fourth time she is sitting for the unified tertiary matriculation examinations in her efforts to secure admission into one of Nigeria's tertiary institutions. But her hope of getting admission again this year has been dashed because of her involvement in examination malpractices and was caught by eagle-eyed supervisors.
Cell phones and wristwatches are part of items banned from the ongoing UTME centres.
Joy has an accomplice in Andrew a student with the federal polytechnic Nasarawa who regretted his action.
JAMB says the suspects will be arraigned in court.
Until now, the ten day long 2018 UTME has been devoid of malpractices as observed by some accredited jamb monitors.
As JAMB continues to rid its examination of malpractices, it has again advised admission seekers to be wary of fraudsters.
